Hancock, NY Under Frack Attack -- Delaware Riverkeeper Network

Citizen Information & Training on Proposed Millennium Pipeline Compressor in Hancock, NY

To help residents learn about the proposal to construct a new 15,000 horsepower compressor in Hancock, NY along the existing Millennium Pipeline, including understanding potential air impacts and how citizens can get involved, the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy and Clean Air Council are holding an information session this coming weekend.

Date:  Saturday, June 23rd
Time:  3 pm to 5 pm
Place:  The Chestnut Café in Long Eddy  (street address: 11625 State Route 97, Long Eddy, NY).

According to the pipeline owner, the compressor will allow for increased amounts of natural gas to pass through the pipeline and through the region.  According to the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, the Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy, and the Clean Air Council, the pipeline will support increased amounts of shale gas drilling and fracking and will become its own source of pollution for the Hancock community.
