Rally Against Fracking on Tuesday

Rally to Stop Pennsylvania’s Gas Drilling Pollution in Harrisburg
Tuesday June 19, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Please join with Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Clean Water Action and others in Harrisburg to denounce the scourge of gas drilling pollution in Pennsylvania.  This is a corporate campaign organized by Clean Water Action to directly demand that the three of the biggest drilling companies, Chesapeake Energy, Range Resources, and Chief Oil and Gas, take five simple actions as a first step towards protecting our health and environment.

Join Delaware Riverkeeper Network and other organizations at a rally and march in Harrisburg to offices of the three companies (all within a few blocks). We will meet at the foot of the State Capitol steps and march from there. We are encouraging people to bring cleaning supplies (nothing toxic please) that we will deliver to the companies.

Chesapeake Energy, Range Resources and Chief Oil and Gas have fracked more than 1,200 shale gas wells in Pennsylvania and have been cited 900 times for violations of drilling regulations at these wells. It is clear that our woefully underfunded DEP cannot protect us from the dangers of drilling. It is clear that Governor Corbett and our state legislature are not going to provide the leadership we need to protect our communities. It’s time to take our demands directly to the drillers.

Clean Water Action will be organizing transportation to the event – contact
Hope to see you in Harrisburg on June 19!
